NFL is staged sport.
Did Officials Bungle the End Game for Vikings?
Thirty-four years after the Vikings were knocked off the road to the Super Bowl on a controversial non-call against the Dallas Cowboys (see the Fifth Down post last week), Minnesota was denied again in part because of controversial and late officiating decisions.
The two plays in question came in overtime:
1) The Vikings’ Ben Leber was called for pass interference on the Saints’ David Thomas. It’s not clear Thomas had a play on the ball. And the contact between the players was not egregious — the decision was debatable at the very least.
3) Shortly after, the Saints’ Robert Meachem bobbled a catch as he fell to the ground at the Vikings’ 22. The ball appeared to hit the ground before he had possession. The catch was upheld upon review. And it put the Saints in field-goal position to send them to the Super Bowl.
Extra point: Do Vikings fans have a legitimate case to complain?
As one Fifth Down commenter said: “I can’t believe the replay booth refs did not see what was apparent to anyone with eyes. Referees should not decide games, players should.” fock the officials and their commissioner Roger douche bag Goodell.

Waa iska caadi ninyahow. I been disappointed time & time again. Every team I rooted for this season already got sent home. But yeah, that call at the 22nd line as a touchdown was very fishy. Dude was pushed outside and never got a chance to get near the line. What pissed me off was how passive & quite the Vikings' coach was the whole time. Never challenging anything, just walking around and looking like he had all the time in the world. Then last minute he goes and challenges what seems like an obvious 1st and 10, wtf? Fuck you, man.

Re: NFL is staged sport.
Farve last interception was totally unnecessary because we were within field goal range, instead running with the ball he decided to threw in the middle that was game changer nevertheless the officials were clearly biased, 2 huge calls against the vikes which led to the field goalKoronto77 wrote:

You turn the ball over five times.. you shouldn't expect to win
Thats the only stat the Vikes lost at. They controlled the clock, outgained the saints by 200... but you give the saints five more posessions

Re: NFL is staged sport.
Favre let the entire MN down by throwing unncessary pass. For what? The MN kicker could have won the game from that spot....Favre never learns from his mistakes as he did the same thing when he was a Packer against a Giants game....The Viks had this one...I agree that so-called catch by Meachem was not a catch as he was never in control of the ball. It is done now...Let us root for the rookie African American coach of the Colts; plus there is Haitian connection on the Colts, another reason to root for them in this difficult time for Haiti!!!! Go Colts!!!!!
