I would say samater should not face any charges in the US as he was under the influence of Said Barre. Why|? Because Said Barre was a dictator in Somalia and he tortured everyone who dissagreed with him.........So Somalilanders, give up, You can't hold on to the past and if you do, you will never move forward. No one here is innocent. When the army came to Hargaisea and killed innocent people of Hargaisa, So as innocent people from Darood who where in Hargaisa killed by Somalilanders with axes and knives. One final point, to the people defending Samatar and blaming SNM, there is nothing you, Samatar or anyone else can do to Somaliland today. You lost and the people of Somaliland won. Samatar is just now paying for his crimes. Delayed justice is better than no justice at all.

This is NOTHING NEW. Many 'thugs' from Germany ended up here with the Federal Government's blessing. We have a long history of allowing the thugs to move here to avoid spending time in prison or facing other justice. Now we have a Somali General living amongst us. Too bad that we don't have the presence to send him back into the country he helped destroy (according to this article.) However, we are also the same land that has at the bottom of Lady Liberty a saying that we should accept the poor and hungry. That is really what we are here for. Not to accept known criminals, we did our best to send back Cuba's, now we should attempt to make amends by sending the remainder back, unless they are too sick or feeble to present a danger to the rest of us.
