Now, well, fuck him to be honest, could care less who he's seen with, his power is zero and with that his reputation means shit on the international state.
I don't think Sh Sharif has changed. The situation in Somalia has changed. In 2005, he was right in fighting against the warlords and today he is right in fighting the Al Qaida proxies in Somalia which are really the only obstacle towards the re-emergency of the Somali Republic. People can criticize his leadership style and to be honest, I am not a fan of the way he operates, but to say that he has changed is simply wrong.paidmonk wrote:He looked good in 2006 and I was proud of him as a Somali statesman.

but the day he grows balls and takes back muqdisho is the day I will again become his number one supporter.
You are not alone with your feelings. At the end of the day, what really matters is power relevancy on the ground and unless this much-advertised government offensive yields strong positive results, everything that this government has invested in will amount to naught and Somalia will continue its tragic descend towards chaos.Advo wrote:I swear my respect for him and the tfg is at an alltime low

I think that people now agree that Al Shabab and religious extremism is not the answer to Somalia's problems. They also understand that the government needs to be supported and its power bolstered to defeat the extremists. This deep consensus about the problem and what needs to be done has never existed in Somalia during the last 20 years and I think this is the biggest asset and advantage that this government wields. The writ of the government needs to be restored and the government needs to take concrete steps in steering our nation from this excruciating trajectory that we find ourselves in.LionHeart-112 wrote:Advo wrote:I swear my respect for him and the tfg is at an alltime low

Without outside involvement, do you think that's possible?

I mean, damn dude in 2006 Sh. Sharif was the f-king Don! Everyone in Africa idolized the man, he was a re-birth of Che Guevara! From Sudan to Egypt and Nigeria, Kenya, even inside Ethiopia Sharif had hardcore fans and followers everywhere. I don't know if you remember but the man was incredibly popular and Somalia was on the map big time, as a place of hope and power.
Now look back today he's just another of the 16 false presidents who tried to falsely stake their names on Somalia's broken throne, he's just that - nothing, a joke on the world stage.

People are already going against AS. The federal government has the support of PL, JL, and ML and their peoples. For instances the elders of Gedo and Juba areas recruited more than 2500 armed and well trained voluntaries who are ready to be deployed as far as the tip of the south. But the naive Sherif can't play his cards properly. He has one ear and that is KT Melez!LionHeart-112 wrote: I really hope you are both right. I pray enough people get fed up with Alshabaab and other extremists bullshit so much so that they join the government's forces!
