Mr. Abdi Tarah is originally from the Ogaden region and its his clan members who are engaged in a guerrilla war with Ethiopia, and who recently killed nine Chinese oil drilling worker in Obole. Moreover, Abdi Tarah is a cousin of the ONLF Chairman, Ex-Admiral Mohamed Omar Osman in London
Minister of Posts of the TFG, Mr. Abdi Tarah is in Beijing, PRC, for a ten day semi official visit. The Minister is not negotiating to ask China for help to re-establish the defunct postal system of the failed state of Somalia, but he is negotiating with the Chinese petroleum companies, Zhongyuan Petroleum Exploration Bureau under the China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation on how they will resume oil and gas drilling in the Ogaden, eastern region of Ethiopia.
Informative sources in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia has confirmed that the credentials of Mr. Abdi Mohamed Tarah are: Minister of Posts and Telecommunication and Minister of Energy to ease his negotiations in Beijing with the Chinese Oil Companies. He is accompanied by someone entitled the TFG "Permenant Secretary".

The aim of this visit to China is to bargain with the Chinese Oil Companies, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation on behalf of ONLF, and the TFG who has earned a fat commission earlier in 2007 from both the Chinese and the Ethiopian government. This is due to the fact that the Chinese has come to the recognition of the facts in the Ogaden ground that it is not Ethiopia who has the final word over there, but the native people who are not Ethiopians.
What is expected this time is that the Chinese Oil Companies will accept transferring huge amounts of cash to appease the Ex-admiral, and in return to resume the oil and gas drilling in the Ogaden.

Re: have the chinese bought off the corrupt chairman of onlf?
of course the source is questionable to say the least, but it'd easily fit with the corrupt nature of the 'ex'-admiral. so most likely there are shades of truth in there, somewhere in the midst of the extreme idoor cuqdad.
