In the 1300 the Gurgura as the eldest Dir clan were not only the Leaders of the Dir but all somali clans in the north.

It only after the ethiopian amde seyons victories destroyed them and the ancestors of the Gadabursi and the Mahe dir that
all the clans splintered..

today they have been partially oromosized...

I think we should make all efforts to make sure they remain Somalis. May be Issa and Samaroon brothers and sisters, fellow Dirs, should lead that effort.

Funny people you people are. As a native of Dire Dawa let me tell you that gurguras are no different in type or which language they speak , and identity than a Noole or Jaarso. You see all these singers right here refer themselves as Oromos and are about Oromummaa and Oromiyaa(but i dont think Qamar is gurgura he is also from dadar or Yonis abduallhi). Nobody gives damn if you are gurgura, noole, jaarso , ala, or even issa, except maybe you desert tribal maniacs. Even Malka Jabdu,a place west of dire dawa is a mixed with oromo and somali. Gurgura, whose land it originally belonged to not DIRE DAWA THE CITY,live together in peace and pastrolize and farm with the jaarso where alot of them live and Hawiya as well. You guys dont know what really going on there you guys read politics and think thats how it is but i have to you all are sadly mistaken. Leave the clan propaganda alone!

Us oromo are people with Iman and humanity in our hearts, you think we give a damn what clan a person comes from? As long as a person's character is good and we can understand him he is cool with us. Ill repeat this again, Dire Dawa has never been a somali city! It would be apart of Oromiyaa and not a federal city if wasnt for somalis crying. Somalis probably didnt even contribute to building the city early you just keep on migrating here from somaliland and somalia proper. Trying to outnumber us, aint never going to work though.

Dir Dawa Is Originally A Somali Settlement (Issa & Gurgure),
Oromo's Recently Migrated There During The 1930's.

Even The Recent Mayor Of The City Was Somali.

Somali's Even Tried To Liberate It During the 77-78 War.

dire dawa was founded by the Gurgura, in the late 1600's.
The oromo became majority later on and surrounded them..

lol, dire dawa was not founded in no damn 1600's. Again with clan propaganda. Nothing existed on this land in prior to the 1900's. Everything was created by the french, Italians, Ethiopians, arabs, and oromos after that. Issa cant steal our land just like you stole djbouti from afar. What the hell made dire dawa, dire dhabo? :x Just doesn't add.

I am third generation born dire dawaian, it was my great grand father who migrated here form a northern oromo land. Dire is in my blood and we didnt came here in the 1930's!

Gara Man, u have to understand, Somalis cannot grasp any concept of relation if not based on fictious/true blood relation.
If needed they will fabiricate.

Anyways these singers self represent as oromo and r regarded as oromo.

If absolutely needed their tribe
Abdi Buux is Issaa Odahgoob
Yonis Abdullahi is Somali his mom is Oromo

the others r afran qallo oromo...execpt for Qamar who is from Wallo Oromo, warra qaalluu.
His grand father or great grand father immigrated to Afran qallo area.

As for Dire Dawa, it belongs to all BANTUS!
The day of conquest r gone...now its time for business ...Somalis enjoy a strategic position in the horn, but that can change
very quickly if every horners sees them as war mongerers and land grabers.
North and central ethio will deal with Asab and the south will relay on Kenya :D

Enjoy this wonderful Wallo oromo song in this beautiful spring weekend :D
