Would you ever have a colour theme for your wedding? Honestly, I don't see the point of it. Everyone wearing the same colour. Room full of orange ama pink people. Also, don't you think it's dhib for your guests? It's like they're making the effort to come, and you're telling them what colour clothes to wear? I just don't get it, and I find it annoying. It's the bride's day etc, but how will it make your day any more special if everyone comes wearing orange or yellow?

Re: Weddings & Colours!!
Its ridiculous and Somali guests wouldnt comply anyway, your own family would be against it. Its only in the West is a wedding seen as a bride's day, the wishes of your family and his family come on top if you are Somali.

Re: Weddings & Colours!!
As long as you don't expect all the guests to wear the same colour I don't see anything wrong with it. It just depends on whether you choose a theme or not, if you do then you stick to the colour scheme; the flowers, decorations, brides maids dresses, you could get your family to wear the same hue. If it's sunset theme for example the whole room would have a golden glow, if it's winter themed the room would have bursts of blues and the room would have a cool crystal effect...just depends how particular you are about it I guess.
Does that mean you want to remain single? A wedding is a marriage ceremony whether it's in town hall, a mosque or The Dorchester.WestLdnShawty wrote:No.. cos i don't want a wedding.

Leila25:- The last few weddings I've been to it was all about the wishes of the groom's family, and the bride accepted everything to please the inlaws.
BlackVelvet:- Your idea sounds good, but this bride is expecting every single guest to wear the same colour. Cajiib soma'ahan?
WesLdnShawty:- What do you want? You have to do a walimah..'cause it's Sunnah. I'm thinking you want something on a small scale?

I'd rather go fancy dress. At least I have a choice then. Wouldn't have to wear some ugly colour.BlackVelvet wrote:At least she's not doing fancy dress. I saw that in an episode of 4 Weddings

Worse! Orange...black skin and orange don't mix. Why couldn't it be purple?

Orange is actually not that bad, it can be beautiful. I wore an orangish/yellow/gold dirac to a wedding once, it goes really nice with dahab and unless you wear traffic light orange am sure you'll look good. Just imagine the possibilities: It will make your skin glow

I don't like orange! It's ugly on me, honestly. I don't own a single thing that's orange, even a dirac.
If it was darkish orange I'd give it a go, but it's light orange! waa foolxumo...also I can't wear a dirac.
It has to be a dress, and there's no way I'm wearing orange abaaya..

No I am not
Okay seriously I think you'll look great in orange, until recently I didn't think it went with dark skin either but my west african friend loves orange and she looks great in it. Go to Finchley Road near Arsenal Stadium there's loads of Indian shops I'm sure you'll find something decent
