I try to stomach the food my buddy's wife cooks and its awful (nasty macaroni, spinach that looks like cow dung, fish that has been over fried, chicken that tastes like wood, goat meat that is so hard that it gets stuck in your teeth forcing you to floss to stop the discomfort). Shid, homeboy eats the same kind of food everyday and its nasty. I am forced to eat this food because I stay over at his crib whenever I am on business in his town and we work closely together. Just when I feel that I am done, he piles more of that nasty food on my plate.

What kind of woman can't cook well before she gets married ? Ladies, please please learn to cook. I don't care how progressive a Farax maybe but a woman who can't cook decent food is sorry sight. The way to a man's heart is his stomach.

I found it hard that you would comment the wife of your friend in a public forum. You don't marry a woman because she is a good cook; In my view, if that is what you want from a woman, then you want a slave and not a wife. If your friend is happy with his wife, say Alxamdulillaah. Is the determinator factor for a wife cooking? The prophet (peace be upon him) told us that when you are marrying a wife, you should look at her iman. Not a beauty nor wealth. It is the imaan (believe in Allah and Mohamed as the last messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)) and good good deeds.

Cooking is an art and any one can develop. In the old days, the cooking was always done by women but in this world which were are in electronics and technology age, any one (husband and wife) should be able to cook. You can buy a certain cooking equipment and can cook the food for yourself in such a short time if wife is not capable of or not available. If your wife cooks, say Alxamdulillaah, but you should also be able to cook it also.

I remember one of the Khutbah in Juma'a prayer in Atlanta, GA was how you deal with your wife. The Sheikh was saying when you get home, the 1st thing you ask your wife should not be if she cooked and the food but you should ask her if she prayed.

Personally I love to cook but not every woman is made that way and not every woman can be good at it. Besides, marriage is not only about the food you can provide for your husband. I am sure he is happy and there is def reasons beyond her skills in the kitchen that is keeping their marriage together.
