is Dhul qarnayn alexander the great?

Post by grandpakhalif »

it is possible that Alexander the great was a righteous, monotheist and a just king. The accounts of the book,Alexander's romance, is actually a recession from Callisthenes' original compilation, who was Alexander's main historian and physically attended his expeditions into asia. Alexander's romance did witness transformations over time, but one of the main elements the recurr in its different editions (whether syriac, ethopic etc.) describe this macedonian king as person of righteoueness, a monotheist who sought God's closeness, and a saintly figure who was aided with Divine help, and whose concern was to bring peace, justice, and prosperity to those whom he conquered.

The most common english translation of the Quran is Yusuf alis.
Yusuf ali had a allot of pages of commentary about different suras in his translation.

One of them was Alexander the great bieng dhul qarnain..
this is the theory of just one man, yusuf ali and he says what if?

so do not take it seriously...

Dhul qarnian is definatley a Pre-historic figure, from the period of time that we have no knowledge of..

our knowledge of history only goes back to 4000 BC...

anything before that is specualtion and has no basis in facts.

well he came from ancient macedonia. i dont see how the people of that regions could have been monotheists????

unlike pagan alex, we know that cyrus believed in One God and he treated the muslims at that time kindly.
