They have peace. They have a stable government. They have vast natural resources. Yet they are time after time ranked among the poorest countries in the world.

Re: Ethiopia: 2nd Poorest Country in the World.....again
Meles has been lying to the people of Ethiopia. Constantly he has been talking about 10% growth, poor Ethiopian vision China-like growth but reality is different. Ethiopia still gets a lot of AID and still has a hunger problem. Ethiopia’s economy is heavily controlled by TPLF and economic freedom is stifled completely. The growth is only coming from foreign companies buying cheap fertile land to grow and export food while farmers are left behind. Second highest inflation in Africa after Zimbabwe

Ethiopians are very good looking people though, its such a frustration to see an african country with such beauty be so behind and worst than even the indeginous adoon neighbor countries.

And? Should that be a compliment to them?
They had a government for 20 years yet are still one of the poorest countries in the world. Ethiopia has a lot of natural resources yet they still starve and lack basic necessities at time. Nigeria has a larger population yet didn’t make the list. Let's not forget this is one of the most Aided countries in the world

poverty is something which is normal in african countries just like wealth is normal in japan or western countries.
lets talk about state and rich history.

Somalia’s history is up there with Ethiopia’s. But this isn't the debate.HutuKing01 wrote:Oxidant wrote:HutuKing01 wrote:You know how many people lives in ethiopia?

Ethiopia is ranked the second poorest country in the world, it is lagging behind Somalia who has been stateless for 20 years. That is a poor indictment of the Ethiopian government mainly not the people. Regardless of population, Ethiopia has vast fertile land combing with numerous natural resources. Yet still have a famine problem even when they are the most Aided nation in Africa.
So it is ok, for a country which has had a government for 20 years, largest recipient of AID, fertile land to be the second poorest nation in the world just because they are Africans

No one is hating on Ethiopia, but reality of Ethiopia as a whole is bleak
