Maashallah, wallahi it is beautiful but I don't understand where you people get the propaganda the government bombed Hargeisa? Read Rukia Omaar's book, the SNM once they were kicked out of Ethiopia in 1988 themselves pretended to be government soldiers and at night attacked Hargeisa and Burco attempting to get the people on their side who until that point were apathetic.
Why did the SNM rebellion start in 1982 but nothing happened to civilians or northern towns until the SNM crossed into Somalia and as documented tried to find cover within the people with the only way to do that being to make a cardinal divided between people's feelings and the government. It is well documented that the SNM themselves attacked northern towns and cities pretending to be the government in their desperation to continue their rebellion in order to get the people on their side and used northern towns and people as human shields. It is also well documented the government took all care and manner to minimize any civilian casualties in their attempt to wipe out the rebellion.
Also, Hargeisa has had 20 years of peace, quiet, and investment and had the distinction of being Somalia's second-largest city with second largest population base since the beginning of Somalia's founding. In light of those factors, Hargeisa could have done a lot better in terms of infrastructure.
Nobody said anything about 1988. cuqdada iska sar. Hargeysa didn't have 20 years of peace, the wars started in 1988 - and ended in 1996. That is actually 14 years of peace and limited outside help.
