Somali Racial Superiority???

Now let me first and foremost say that I am a Somali who was born in Mogadishu, whose lived most of my life here in the United States. Now I for one have been roaming this site trying to get a feel for my people, since I haven't really been around many Somali people.

The thing I found most apalling on this website is the attitude of Somalis toward other black people. Now I'm not here to change your opinions of other black africans because it seems SOME of you people are some of the most ignorant and self-hating brainwashed negroes I've ever seen in my life.

My question is you guys here seem to think that Somalis are supposedly DIFFERENT in every sense from "bantus" and "adoons" because we Somalis have "aquilene features, "softer hair", and etc. etc. Features that are not pronunced in the common "adoon". Well since you Somalis seem to worship these "non-negriod" features DOES it mean that you guys think more highly of the ARABS and WHITES than yourself because they do have "softer hair", "slimer lips", "straighter more perfect noses", and "lighter skin" than Somali people.

So do you guys believe that ARABS and WHITES are SUPERIOR to Somalis???

Because going by the racist Somali logic of some of you here it seems that WE Somalis are "inferior" because compared to the WHITES and ARABS we don't have as much "aqueline" features, "softer, longer, straighter hair", "slimmer lips", "longer, straighter" noses and "lighter" skin than them. Because compared to these people we have MUCH darker skin, harder hair, and more negriod features.

So I really want an answer from most of you???

Do you believe that ARABS and WHITES are SUPERIOR to Somalis???

And if not GIVE ME PROOF as to why we are SUPERIOR to the WHITES and ARABS when compared to them WE SOMALIS suffer from the same fallacies that other black Africans have when supposedly compared to the "superior" Somalis!!!

The reason I asked this question is SIMPLE!!!

Somalis are such fiercely proud people that WE believe we are the most dominant a superior species walking on the face of the earth. Which in my view is GREAT!!!

I have no problem with that BUT my problem is where is the back up to this???

Do we have a government, are we any better off than those "adoon" nations? In fact Somalia is one of the ten most poorest nations in the world. Do we have any great civilization in the past???

There is no Somali who will come out and say an Arab or White is superior to the Somali. It just won't happen. But my problem is why do we separate ourselves from our Africans brother??? Fo sure I love my Somali people more BUT for what reason are we any better than our BROTHERS???

And if that is a reason for you to say "I am better than that adoon" THEN tell me why a WHITE or ARAB can't come straight back at you with the same insult???



My father used to work in Saudi Arabia and he always tells me how the Arabs there used to call him "cabiid"!!!

Yeah "cabiid" in other words "slave' the same word as "adoon"!!!

I go to school here in America and when I was in 4th grade I remember I got into a fight with this white kid and he kept calling me "nigger".

To these people we are inferior in their eyes WHY???

RACISM is built on the belief that a race or group of people is naturally SUPERIOR to another. From this ideology WHITE EUROPEANS went out into the world and basically classified out the different races of people. From that they basically put the Human Race into a TOTEM pole. The top was off course taken by the Nordic whites, the next step was to the eastern europeans (because although with darker hair and darker eyes they were still white), then you have the asains like the chinese and japanese, then you have the Arabs and Indians, and on the bottom of the Human totem pole is the NEGRO!!!

So in racist ideology the Black Man is refered to as the most inferior of the human species.

Now I will TEACH you that this wasn't because of any real evidence BECAUSE when racism was talking form white people never made it far into Africa so they knew nothing of the Great Human Civilization in Africa such as the NUBIANS (of the Sudan), the KUSH (of Ethiopia & Somalia), the GHANA, SONGAHI, and MALI empires (of West Africa), AND the Great Zimbabwe (of Southern Africa) which were practically not fully discovered till the 20th century.

You see this is the reason you people wanna distance yourself from BLACK AFRICA because you are uneducated and led to believe that BLACK = inferior!!!

So to the Somali its more favorable to knock down our AFRICAN ancestry and somehow play up a mythical Arabian ancestry. Though no one here will admit to it at least WE SOMALIS climb up one rung and are no longer on the bottom. At least were witht he Arabs. At least were not the most inferior. In the eyes of WHITE people we may be below them but at least were not on the bottom!!!

Very interesting discussion indeed. I am from Senegal and let me tell that I believe that all people are the same, whites, blacks, arabs, latinos and I do not hate anybody for who they are, only for what they do.

You said that the somali people are proud people. I myself think that too much pride is like a poison. As muslims, we must remain humble as humbleness is much better and less toxic than pride.

I think somalis have an inferiority complex. That is why they keep saying over and over again how much they hate blacks (even though blacks have done nothing to them, have no hate for them and most africans wish that Somalia would get back on its feets). The problem is that somalis do not want to be seen as blacks. They hate the very notion that they might be black. So the best way for them to reject this is to profess their hate for blacks again and again.

At the end for me, I do not really care whether somalis are blacks, whites or arabs (even though the world views them as blacks). We are human beings and Allah (SWT) made us all different. For those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, they should know that the Prophet (SAW) has said that there is no superiority of any individual to another one except in Taqwa and good deeds.

If somalis want to be viewed as white or arab, I have no problem with that if this is what make you happy. But at the very least, they should have the decency to respect other human beings.
