My horrific experience during my visit in Baardheere

Post by XimanJaale »

It was a lovely Thursday evening during the month of August (2010), I was with my cousins on my way to my Edo's house, I was tired, I came from a long journey from Tuulo Barwaaqo and Garbahaarey. We approached Buundada weyne of Baardheere, when my cousin who was driving the car decided to stop, as Maghrib was approaching we locked the car, and went down the river underneath the bridge, so that we can make wudhu. It was four of us, and oldest was 28. I was taking my time doing wudhu whilst I was admiring the scenery of the river and the palm trees across the otherside of the river, the rest of them already completed their wudhu whilst I was far from finishing, they decided to go back to the car, whilst I was alone in the bank of the river. I put folded my trousers and went in futher into the river but not too the deep side , and finished my wudhu. But then I saw something large move in the river, I though it was a large fish or turtle, as I looked closer, I saw a crocodile! My heart was racing as it was approaching me from the otherside of the river. I slowly moved into land but I accidently slipped whilst I was still in the river, and all my clothing got soaked but I didn't care, I was more worried about getting inland to the river bed. The crocodile was still aproaching me while I was and rushing to the river bed. My cousins were not aware as I was under the bridge and they were above me in the car. WOOOOOOOOOOSH I made it into the river bed all soaked and wet. I quickly put on my sandles and started to climb the steep hill to get to the road. As I aproached the car, I was laughed as if I was a clown. The next time I went to a river, I made sure to be more alert.

Buundada Baardheere: The blue dot is where I was at and the green dot is where the crocodile was at, (rough estimation)

You are lucky man! What a bunch of heartless members

A relative of mine was eaten crossing the river just outside of Beletweyn a few years back. They came from a football match and had to cross the river. He was the last one and almost made to the bank. It was Magrib and getting dark. That mf croc had to dine on our boy's body

I heard of stories of children eating in luuq by crocodiles after swimming in the river.

However I think u were generous at where u placed the blue dot, shouldnt it be where the camareman is standing.
