The transitional federal government of Somalia on Wednesday regretted and apologized for several aid agencies' ban from operating in Somalia, urging them to continue working.

Abdurrahman Yusuf Ahmed, the deputy minister of water and minerals of the transitional federal government of Somalia, who banned four international aid agencies including DBG and UNICEF, has said his statements were distorted, adding that they called for the relief organizations to work together with Somali government.

Ahmed also reiterated his apology for his earlier remarks.

On Tuesday, after press conference in Somalia's Mogadishu city, the minister ordered the agencies of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and Germany's DBG of not attending a meeting called by the government to stop operating inside Somalia, accusing them of not attending a meeting called by Somali government.

In other words, Mr. Ahmed said his ministry is ready take action towards digging wells to ward off the starvation of drought-affected people in war-torn Somalia.
