Muslim aid visited Somaliland, and hold talks with goverment

Mr. Mizanur Rahman, Regional Coordinator –East Africa of Muslim Aid has come to Hergeiza on 9th December, 2010 to conduct a needs assessment in most needy regions in Somaliland with a view to provide ‘need-based supports’ to the people in need.
Mizanur Rahman and Hergeisa Programme Coordinator Sidiiq M Gahayr have met Mr. Imran, Head of Health Programme , UNICEF –Hergeisa and they agreed to expand the ongoing health project and to work on five components of Health Programme for five year from 2011 to 2015. And the submition of ‘Integrated proposal should be shortly.
On the 11 December Mizanur and head of Somaliland office Mr Sadik have met the Hon’ble Health Minister Dr. Hussein Hoog and Deputy Health Minister Mrs. Nimo Hussen , and they discussed the achievements’ and the challenges of the health programme that Muslim Aid has implementing in Somaliland and how they will expand new health centers and the plan of MA Somaliland of the new year .on 11th December, 2010.
Mizanur met the Minister of Civil Aviation on 12th December to thank Muslim Aid how they are serving the humanity and they are commited to support needy communities in Somaliland and around the planet. The Hon’ble Minister invited Mizanur for a lunch on 15th December.

In addition to this Mizanur and Somaliland team visited Berbera and Gabily and discussed with the Governors and community leaders about the problems of these areas. Also Mizanur and Sidiq met Mandera along with the Mayor and discussed with the community people on the problems of Madera district. It should be noted here that Mizanur has conducted these needs assessment using the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal).
