Faroole drove me to Soccer training once,

Post by Oxidant »

I recall it was 2006, it was the first time I joined a soccer club. Unfortunately, things didn’t go out to plan that day.

I was stranded in North Melbourne and needed a ride to my club in the outer suburbs. I was desperate and really late so I yelled out for a taxi. The Taxi pulled up and there was a Somali driver by the name of “Abdirahman Mohamud Farole”. His picture of there, it was the stand goofy Somali taxi driver picture. He spoke Somali to me and I replied with my broken incoherent Somali accent. He laughed and said "Learn your mother tongue properly, as one day you will return". I smiled and nodded,

He finally took me to my training ground, to my utter shock, I was 5 dollars short. Fortunately, my Aunty was there and was able to chip in. She recognized Faroole from a Puntland/MJ meeting a while ago and exchanged greetings.

My Aunty took me 2008 during Faroole's election bid in Melbourne, that he was the guy who drove me that day and I was shocked, the leader of Puntland drove me to Soccer training,

I wonder what other regional head of Somalia has driven to my destination in their yellow taxi,
Hiiran Leader drove me to my Graduation,
SSC leader drove me to my First day of Uni,
Jubaland leader drove me to work maybe

I didn’t want to tell this story however it was a cloud over my head,

The leader of Puntland was my Taxi driver, and he done a fine service

Taxis in Melbourne have never been the same since 2009

At least do research before you tell a joke.

Faroole was already a leading figure in Puntland's politics by 2006 and ran for elections in 2005. In fact his name rung on Somalinet during that time.

It's a reality,

Faroole had a future in Melbourne’s Taxi industry but choose instead to his fellow countrymen,

So I guess this is one of those 'lets take jabs at someone to put them down' sorta topics. If thats the case then you picked on the wrong guy dude. You see, him being a taxi driver only means his a man who would do anything necessary to make a living. You on the other hand couldn't even pay for your own fare, and had to ask your aunt to actually help you cover your taxi fare. People say "Those who succeed owe their success to perseverance” perseverance is what put him to become a leader of a nation. Now you just have ask yourself what have you done since your taxi ride and if you can't measure up to his success, then know that you picked on the wrong guy to take jabs at.

I was 15 years old at the time

I was expecting to take a Taxi that day and I believe I was overcharged because Faroole was able to get to the place in one go; I had to stand his numerous blunders

However, if you are implying Faroole got the Job on merit, you are lying to yourself. He got the job based on clan politics and his tribal heritage not merit.

Really dude, u were 15 and needed your aunt to cover you fare. The point I'm making is, you shouldn't try to put down someone thats far more successful.

Again, you are defending your Sliver Cap Taxi driver leader,

It seems you love for his man is clouding you logical judgment and hence cannot process and comprehend the situation I was under.

I am not putting anyone down but rather stating what happened to me when Faroole drove me to my Soccer ground, if that offends you, well then grow a pair
