Somalia: An Ahlu Sunna Fighter Killed in Mogadishu Bomb Blas

Mogadishu — At least one fighter has been killed and two others were severely wounded after a bomb blast targeted to fighters of Moderate Ahlu Sunna Waljama' (ASWJ) in the Somali capital Mogadishu, an official said Sunday.

The explosion took place in a checkpoint in Mogadishu's Dharkenley district where Ahlu Sunna Waljama' fighters were searching transportation buses and people, according to Sheikh Osman Sheikh Ahmed Abu Hamza, the spokesman of moderate Ahlu Sunna in south and central Somalia.

After the explosion, a lot of government forces and Ahlu Sunna fighters reached at scene to make search operations, but another blast rocked the spot though it is still unknown the number of the casualties caused by the second explosion.

Witnesses said a lot of people whose number unconfirmed were seized during search operations conducted by Somali and Ahlu Sunna Waljama' in Dharkenley district.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility of bomb attacks.
