Always wondered how on earth people assumed they could count which goats belong to which sub clans.
Bollox if you'd ask me.

Well It's just estimations they took from each clan's deegaan which might have some true to it. The sameway they estimated the livestock of the Jubbaland - Somalia clans, Ogaden - Cowlyahan, Marexaan, Degodia - Hawiye.

It's easy though they knew which clans were Camel herders the most and had the biggest camel livestock in former British Somaliland (Habar Yunis & Dhulbahante), which clans were cattle herders the most (Sa'ad Musa & Gadabursi who have alot of farm lands in Gabiley, Dilla, Borama Allabaday, etc) or goat herders in the case of Isa Musa.

The Obvisious.

According to the Italian General Commissariat for Jubbaland, three major clans possessed a significant camel stock in Jubbaland (1925), they were

1. Talxe (Mareexaan) -167,000 Camels

2. Bartire (Absame) - 93,000 Camels

3. Cawliyahan (Absame) - 50,000 Camels

4. Clans living around the coast (Bajuuni) - 5,000 Camels

Total Camels - 315,000

Even if (Bartire, Cawliyahan and Bajuuni) combined their stock (148,000), Talxe remains the top holder.

i would take lo' over geel any day. lo' jirku waa nin deegaan ah, caruurtu malcaamadaha iyo iskuulada ayay u dhigtiin while geel jire moves around throughout the year.
salkaba dhulka dhigi maayo, jaahilnimo ayay sababtay hab_nololeedkiisu way u dheertahay.

geel jire= violent, ignorent and malnourished
lo' jir= ritional, reletively civilised and well nourished

if you are not biased, mid kee baad qaadan lahayd labadaa?

Sacad muse ----> sii ba jibril abookr luv cows

gadarbursi -----> luv thier cow that's a fact ....There not Big camel eater found that out in boorame only 1 camel get slaughted every day I'm thinking how much must get slaughted in hargeisa and burco then
