I just stated the fact that it included multiple clans, most of whom quit when the sayidds nature became aparent..

How do you explain the British-led massive aerial bombardment in Taleex, Jiidali, and Midashi towns and settlements and the attacks that were coordinated from land, sea, and air? I asked that question based on your claim that Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan (may Allah be pleased be with him) was a psychopath at the end. The only movement known stood up against British colonialism and viciously resisted was the Dervishes movement and we all know we would have one Somalia today had the dervishes succeeded in their mission.

For those who don't know history, Dervishes movement was the 1st African movement that the European colonialists had to use arial, land, and naval attack in order to subdue them. It was only the collapse of the Ottoman Empire that has caused the lack of supplies that the Dervishes movement had to suffer and it was the Ataturk who has contributed to the collapse of that Islamic struggle. Had we have the Ottoman empire intact when the assault of the British took place in 1921, the dervishes movement would have been able to offer a counter attack but the collapse of the Ottoman empire and the victory of the Allies in the 1st world war was the main reason that Dervishes movement disintegrated due to lack of supplies and safe routes for arms shipments, and not some bogus clannish reasons that some are claiming here.

Sheekh Bashir small uprising was a noble one but had nothing to do with the Dervishes movement. He and few shiekhs were revolting against the opening of a Christian missionary school in the town of Sheekh. Since the communities that settle in the areas they were revolting did not support them, they were easily subdued.

True more Daaroods were killed in that struggle but they all died against British, Italian, and Habashi colonialism. People have to know that the Dervishes movement was against all foreign colonialism and not only against the British. As a matter fact, the 1st jihad was against the Abyssinian rulers.
