Sending troubled Kids back to Africa

Lately numerous kids I know have been sent back to Kenya, Djibouti and Somalia. Most of these children are trouble makers and are sent back to live with their relatives,

But I don’t know what the point of doing this is. I don’t think the child gains anything from doing this. They miss out years of schooling because of this. When they return back home, parents send them money in which they live comfortably compared to the natives, so they really don't experience Africa. Usually when they return they just revert back to their ways.

I think when parents do this, they have failed as parents, it only a short term fix for a problem which should have been addressed years ago.

I think its better for the kids. It is two of lesser evils---kids been supported in the african countries---are way better than here in the west. At least in the west they tend to get reality check. They will realize how privileged they were.

all of the kids that are sent back either dropped-out of school or were failing horribly anyway, so they're not missing out on anything by being sent to africa.

It's an alternative, It's either this or let the kid rot in jail, personally I will go with the former, I rather my kid be jahil than end up being someone's bitch.

But I guess the community has addressed this issue and often parents discuss about it with other elders. It's just that troubled kids are bad kids who don't listen to their parents, brothers, sisters and elders, mostly the uneducated parents. Bad friends and poor schooling life have great influence on them. Unless they are cut off from the cycle that influenced them, and ship them back, there is no another visible solution.

Even though there are good mannered successful parents with troubled kids in back home, but still kids are sent back as last try to fix them. It's a punishment to them, and there is a hope that they might learn from other kids or relatives in Africa, or other continents.

It is just another way of expanding their perspective, and teaching them that the world is not as limited as their views. If you have another sound and visible solution to this, in order to fix a troubled kid, please do share.
