The 100 day task and war updates
The war against Al Shabab has started today in Xamar. When mudane Farmaajo, has said that Al Shabab chance to have dialogue is over giving them 75 days to talk. The war has started today, and government troops have started to attack Al Shabab bases in Degmada Madiina, Howlwadag and Boondheere. Ahlu Sunnah has also joined despite their temporary pause to celebrate mowliid. 10 Al Shabab soldiers have been killed and 3 were taken as prisoners. Also government military movement is starting in Yeed of Bakool region. For more updates follow this thread for the next three weeks. Wa bilahi towfiq.

This is different cabinet, with different actions. Last year's process has nothing to do with this cabinet.James Dahl wrote:Didn't the TFG offensive start last year?

This reminds me of a famous definition of insanity, that being doing the same action with the same inputs but expecting a different result.XimanJaale wrote:This is different cabinet, with different actions. Actually much is different this time. The leadership of the new goverment and the effectivness. The military support and economical support by other nations etc. I really didnt expect someone like you to do such a mistake saying its the same. This reminds me of a famous definition of insanity, that being doing the same action with the same inputs but expecting a different result.
Whats the same is the president and his constant trips. But the rest of the goverment is changed.

Yeah, 900 somali soldiers came Xamar earlier this month, whilst over 5000 soldiers were stationed in their bases for a while, without carrying any duties. But they are all starting their duties from today and onwards with other soldiers already in the battle field.greenday wrote:Did they get more soldiers? Sheekada Somalia now or never ee marosaa

In a third world country when you fighting an enemy willing to blow himself up as soon as he senses defeat there will be a lot of blood shed. I refuse to believe TFG did all they could to bring about the necessary conditions to entice their opponents into negotiations.
Somalis will die on bothsides and regardless of who wins we as somalis still loose.
I believe the coexistence of secularists and fundamentalists can have a productive counter balance that benefits the civilians in the long run. They need to both survive to work as a balanced team that keep checks and balances on each other to prevent the abuse of the civilians. Domination of one of the groups will lead to renewed nepotism and statewide corruption.
TFG will require Amisom for the next 20years or more to hold onto every street they capture with their current intended method of "liberation".

So long as we cheer for any group that is quick to fire a bullet we are all doomed. Where do we draw the line?kambuli wrote:Can any positive thing be achieved without the Somali bloodshed![]()
Live by the gun you die by the gun!
Any Nation we create by the gun will eventually be destroyed by the gun, let us be carefull of setting presedence.

Seeing that the rebel opposition don't want dialogue, the only way is force, sad indeed. But wat can we do eh? How can you overcome a rebel group that wants to destroy the government? Without even showing peaceful traits? Iam afraid our solution and result is the gun. I am sure, thats how we got our independence from Italy & UK. Al Shabab are our modern day occupiers, for freedom war must happen. Sad world
