When it comes to the diin, i take the opinions of the experts on Islaam. I have no right to independently interpret Islamic texts, as i don't have knowledge. And allah swt said that when in doubt, SPEAK to the people of knowledge.

You on the other hand, think that you can make independent opinions based your on AQL.

That is the difference between me and you. You have the audacity to suggest that you know more than all of the scholars and sahabah that have passed. I am humble enough to accept that due to my ignorance in comparision, i will accept what the scholars of diin have to say,

Wrong on so many levels

1- I was questioning your opinion on what Ibn-al Qayyim said. Ibn- al Qayyim didn't explictly say what i said, neither did he say what I think he was saying. We need to see his quote in context to see what he is on about.

2- Hypothetically speaking, even if ibn-al Qayyim is saying EXACTLY what you are arguing (which again to me, isn't logical, given the fact about who his teacher was, his SCHOOL OF THOUGHT and his colleagues- Ibn Kathir etc), ibn-al qayyim is just one scholar. I do not blind follow one scholar's opinion, but try to follow the ijmaa of the sahabah and the scholars of Alhus-sunnah. Ijmaa of sahabah and salaf first, then bring in the latter day scholars (Khalaf).

What you are arguing is in complete contradiction to what the mufassireen wrote in explaining this verse. Furthermore, the prophet saws did not Make excuses for such people who WILLFULLY remained ignorant, even though they know that the thing outside actually existed.

Yalaxoow used to be a decent guy before SHarif got elected. I worry for XimanJaalle as I suspect he will end up the same way.
