Is TFG using the British style of government, where the Prime Minister makes most of the decision
or are they using the American political system where the President is the highest person and he has a vice-president.
Because President sheikh shareef picked Prime Minister, But then both the President and Prime Minister are powerful, and they both making their own decisions and running around wearing military dress or tuuta (even though they are both civilians).
It seems that they are using the American system, where the president is the highest person in office, but then why do we have a prime minister? shouldn't we have a vice-president insead? I guess that is why the President and the prime minister disagreed in the last three TFGs.
and why one have to be from Darood and one from Hawiye, its like saying the vice-president have to be Republican and the president have to be a democrat.

TFG is a kleptocracy, steal anything that isn't nailed down. If you can't steal it, sell it to China.

I'm curious, what has the TFG sold to China?James Dahl wrote:TFG is a kleptocracy, steal anything that isn't nailed down. If you can't steal it, sell it to China.
I know Somali politics is notoriously corrupt but the idea that there is ANYTHING still LEFT to sell is hard fathom.

Offshore Oil rights. TFG sold them all to the CNOOC.NoAngst. wrote:I'm curious, what has the TFG sold to China?James Dahl wrote:TFG is a kleptocracy, steal anything that isn't nailed down. If you can't steal it, sell it to China.

Sold security services to Blackwater.
Sold some of Somalia's ocean to Kenya even.
And that's just what we know about. God only knows what they've sold off behind closed doors.

Never heard of Somali offshore oil rights. Where did you get this info?James Dahl wrote:Offshore Oil rights. I'm dead set against Blackwater and their ilk. But I remember the Alshabaab whipped up hysteria over the TFG "selling" Somalia's ocean. Don't buy that story, it is total nonsense.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but it's true.
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/China_Busi ... 4Cb01.html Ironically while the deal was signed under the aegis of being "Puntland" offshore oil, it's offshore of Hobyo. Expect that to cause problems down the road
And the marine boundary (guess what, that area has offshore oil too)
