Today Somalia lost a great man, may he rest in peace
Mohamed Adan Hussein 1940-2011
Born in Bossasso, Somalia in 1940, he was sent to Germany when he was 20 to take a education as economist when he finished he returned to Somalia in 1966 where he was appointed as economic director in the ministry of Education, there he made many economical reforms and turned a deficit to a surplus. He worked in the minstry of education until 1991 where he left Somalia and moved to Germany, in 1999 he was offered the job as economy minister in Puntlands government by Abdullahi Yusuf but he refused because he though that Puntland hade too close ties to Etiophia.
Mohamed Hussein was a somali nationalist and used the last 20 years of his life in Germany to collect money to build schools across Somalia, friends discribes him as friendly and always hardworking but says he was very sadenned by Somalias condition.
Mohamed Hussein died at age 71 by cancer in the german capital Berlin 9 april 2011, may he rest in peace amen.
