Somalia needs to form an alliance with Sudan and Egypt

Post by James Dahl »

Ethiopia in recent years has been making threats about adding additional dams or diverting water from the Nile, a prospect that Egypt and Sudan take quite seriously. Ethiopia has also spent the better part of the last century pressing their claim to Somali territory and has succeeded in occupying a good third of it.

Somalia joined the Arab League for basically this reason, but since Somalia's entry in 1977, this was never realized. A new generation of Egyptian leaders could change all that though.

Blame the anti-arab brigade for not seeing the strategic value of working on this kind of relationship.

(Somalia+Egypt+Sudan)

(Somaliland+Ethiopia+South Sudan)

Sounds good.

Somaliland learned it biggest ally in the 1980s -- Ethiopia-- the country that sheltered its fleeing pop. and welcomed it with open arms.
If there is a war between Somalia and Ethiopia its not a secret which side Somaliland will be fighting for.

Well Husni Mubarak was in power but Egypt has shifted. The first trip the new prime minister took to Sudan showing the new trajectory in Egypt's foreign policy. But make no mistake Egypt Somalia with a special eye.

They sheltered you because you were working (and triumphed in) destabilizing the Somali central state. Now Southern Somalia is in a mess and khatland is a vessel state. Little midget Ethiopians won this round.

God bless Ethiopia indeed , if they did not support us in our struggle we would still be refugees fighting ina afweyne. IMO Somaliland has not done enough to pay back the debt. We both have the same goal.. to see the end of zomaliweyn

the transformation in the arab world would certainly have a positive impact on the Somali situation. Egypt has always meddled in the affairs of Somalia, and even had an ambassador when somalia had no state. all the arabs are heavily involved as a matter of fact, pumping money and weapons in a region that has no use for it but to kill it with their own. if somalia is so poor, how does it maintain 20 years of war? maal is more important than people in times of war, and thanks to our arab donors, financing our destruction for the past 20 years!

The only alliance required is between shabab and TFG even with unequal power sharing. Somalis only have themselves to blame for their situation. All money donated is given to feed the starving and not waging wars with the population.

There are no living beings outside Somalia's borders that have any intention neither the power to induce peace until the population develop the necessary appreciation for the fruits of peace.

If i was Ethiopian i would divert all the sewage from my country into the Nile outlet at the point where the water is leaving my borders. You name it medical needles to diapers would enter that water, toxic chemicals, i would personally take a piss there every morning and smile at the prospect that my fieces will be in some dirty egyptians plate in the next 60days.
