Its only among humans it seems that the female strives to be beautiful to get a mate. In the animal kingdom the female of the species is always confident and strong, she doesn’t have to strut her stuff, from the peacock, to the lion, the female is almost always plain, in fact she does the selection of mates, and they must sing and dance to her tune. In some instances like the case of the black widow spider, she will kill off her mate after he serves the purpose of fertilising her.
History seems to indicate that at one point, the human female revelled in such circumstances. That Story is not for today, I would just like to say that today this phenomenon still takes place, but unobtrusively I should add.
It’s almost a given that most confident women have almost no time to try and look ridiculously perfect, in terms of appearance I mean. They don’t overly dress up, they bag, good men. Infact many a fashionista gal, will be found crying on her friends shoulder with the too often asked question “What the hell does he see in her?”, usually when a presumed ‘uglier’ chick bags ‘her’ man, or rather, when her man leaves her for the other woman.
Of course there are cases, where the opposite is the case, but most often, men get the subliminal message that all’s not that well, when a female is trying too hard to be overly attractive. Simplicity speaks volumes about the strength of a woman than flashiness, where this only wins the day on Friday and Sato night outs.
The question I guess should be, what the line between being feminine (enjoying your sexiness in dress and mannerism) Vs the other view??
How can the general woman regain this position of power that all other females of the species seem to enjoy?? How can they make the men dance to their tune?? And why is the deviation only in humans?? It has never made sense that its men who choose, and having nothing to offer (In relative terms I mean), Fed, kept clean, kept civilised , children raised, children fed, lineage preserved. Makes no sense at all, even for me as a man.
