The night thief and my grandma

Post by Mureedi »

You know ever since the Somali civil war, there was one guy missing in the picture. The usual thief who sneaks into houses in the middle of the night and steals. Every thief now is a robber and comes in broad daylight with his gun, robs people and leaves casually strolling with no remorse of fear of repercussion.

Now, one memorable night, my grandma wakes up in the middle of the nigh and sees this thief who snuck in and was collecting stuff. When he heard my grandma, he tried to run out, however, my grandma stopped him. Addressing him like a long lost beloved person, she started talking to him. "Ar tuug asalow ahaa, intee jirti?" She was doing all this with teary eyes and nostalgia. The thief couldn't believe his eyes, finally she told him to take whatever he wants.
