Bareento [Oromos] & co.
Some questions for you and your fellow Oromos/ethiopians:
- do you see yourself (identify) as ethiopian (xabash) or Oromo ?
- What do you think of TPLF, Zenawi and Greater Tigray Republic, respectively ?
- What are your political views on Eritrea.
- What are your views about Somali conflict ?
- Lastly would you accept to be called woyane ?

i) Waaq forbids, I am an Oromo! I am not xabashi! I am the son of flying Qallu who fell from the sky and landed on a tree called Odaa.
ii) TPLF? accident of history kept alive by the westerns; Meles Zenawi? americas man in the horn;
Tigray Republic? please do not give us hope about their departure
on serious note, I am indifferent but they wont create a republic.
Eretrea and Amhar will take revenge.
iii) opinion on Eretrea? relation based on Mutual interest; I wish them all the best but I am not very much interested in eretrea.
iv) my opinion on somali conflict? u are desert dwellers, desert dwellers do not have laws, and u used to live in small units;
now your population increased tremendously and u see u cant live the way your grand fathers did : little by little u discover the advantages of laws and regulations. I hope in few years all this is behind u
v) woyane is another name for TPLF; I am not their supporter and do not want to be called woyane.

Woyane is a term used for the TPLF/ [current] GoE and their supporters/followers/members. Shabia is the Woyane equivalant of Eritrea [Isayas/EPLF]. These terms are almost exclusively used by Ethioians and Eris with refernce to eachother.2ndtoNone wrote:i think it means the peasant rebellion. they were peasants who rebelled against the amxaara king Menelik (or the one before him)Beenaale_No1 wrote:What does Woyane actually mean?

Re: Bareento [Oromos] & co.
yh originally the word refers to the woyane rebellion of tigrays against haile selassie in the early 40's. when the tplf formed they picked up and used this term [for nostalgic purposes] the same way SSC may use 'dervish' . this 'woyane' label is now also used as a pejorative.2ndtoNone wrote:i think it means the peasant rebellion. they were peasants who rebelled against the amxaara king Menelik (or the one before him)Beenaale_No1 wrote:What does Woyane actually mean?
Re: Bareento [Oromos] & co.
yes the term is used for the tplf but it derives its origin from the peasant rebellion of the 18th century. these peasants were tigre who were oppressed by the amxaara elite.anonymousfaarax wrote:Woyane is a term used for the TPLF/ [current] GoE and their supporters/followers/members.
