Don't you hate debating people who grew up in Muslim households who come to you out of the blue and talk about their problems with Islam? Now, I'm obviously not knowledgable but what I have, I try to give, and use the rationales that I've been taught and learned from my upbringing and interactions with learned people. S

Was in a discussion for a couple hours with two people of Egyptian heritage who see Islam as primitive and the source of all the societal ills of Muslims and preventing Muslims from being in the mainstream. I think the last two semesters has really shown me what a friend of mine, who was the President of the MSA, once said and that was: "you would be surprised to find out how many of the females amongst us are not really convinced with Islam". They still call themselves Muslims btw, they just think Islam needs to be re-written like these ultra liberal folks like Mona Elhatawy or even how Ayan Hirsi harps on about this.

On women's rights, I laid out the stuff that's in the Qur'an. Why a woman can't marry a non-Muslim man? Used the rationale of what shyookh have talked about.

But shid like "why aren't there female prophets" and "why can't a woman be a leader" just piss me off and I literally had to give these niggaz a hand written list of some of the great women in Islam

They say all this in a front against patriarchal system and they believe the only purpose a woman has in Islam is to be a wife and just have kids, cause that's when she's "Really relevant"

they recognize secular humanist society is patriarchal too but are completely blind to how this society has treated women... for God's sake a woman couldn't own a house until the 1950s...

anyway im done with my mini rant... i'm just tired of debating these muslims on the fringe of atheism/agnosticism for extreme feminism or other matters...

I started ignoring them, it is very hard to reason with them. They straight up piss me off. Their scapegoat for their shortcomings is Islam, very stupid bunch of people. I ignore them and wait for them to crash and burn so that I can say "HA HA!".

Did you think it was meant as a joke when prophet pbuh said most ppl in hell are the women.
Or when he said: if a woman reaches certain age(40/50), she becomes rebellious.

They are easy to mislead.

I dont even bother to debate the feminists, atheists and secularists anymore. Same arguments used everytime, they are stuck in their misguidance.

feminists will never listen, just blabber on about how Islam is a Male dominant religion and all this other nonsense. Unfortunately, there are many of them in our communities and the disease just keeps getting worse with every lie they harbor.

Lol thank god I stopped trying to reason with some people long ago. In the end though faith is just faith, belief in the unseen. That is why the prophet pbuh perfected their faith before the other stuff. If a woman doesn't have a strong faith there is no way you can spin or explain why shes not allowed to have four husbands etc. When the person has completely accepted Islam in their hearts the rest comes easy.

Lol is true. This one sheik was talking about tawheed first and how some callers to Islam try to explain to a non Muslim or a weak Muslim why hijab is good using all theses logic like hijab keeps bad men away. The sheik goes what if the kafir likes covered up women lol. Or some trying telling a kafir who goes to the gym the reason salat is good is because is good exercise lol. In the end the foundation of faith is belief in Allah once that is firm the rest comes easy. That is why the conversation has to be brought back to god all the times.

I don't think this is a question of feminism; it is well known fact that people who abandon any religion are its most vocal critics. The reason is because they know the weak spots.

Feminism in its original form is about human rights; the rights of women to vote, to her body etc and I don't see any problem with that. However, in recent decades feminism has become an anti-religious establishment and it is easy for feminism to crack holes in religious dogma if those who represent a certain faith blend religion with traditions.

First of all learn to differentiate your kind of Islam and the REAL Islam.

The prophet pbuh was kind to women, he believed in women's rights. Nowadays any dimwit who claims to be Muslim thinks he has the right to bash women. Women can't do this, Women can't do that, Focus on your damn life instead of worrying about what women can do and what women can't do. I remember once this sheikh spent 2 whole hours undermining women, Where does it say in the Qur'an it's okay to belittle women?
