Al-Shabab withdraws from southern cities in Somalia

Post by fatimazahra »

Reports from Afmadow district of lower Jubba region say that the rebel group of Shabab has completely withdrawn from Qoqani, and Afmadow itself and Shabab and T.F.G forces exchanged fires in Qoqani last night.

Afamadow becomes the second city that rebel group of Shabab vacates without any fighting they had with Somali transitional federal government backed by Raskamboni movement, reports said.

No one knows the exact number of casualties of nightfall shells in Qoqani last night.

This comes as Kenyan government stated that their entered into Somali territory preventing terrorist linked group of Shabab as two female aid workers recently kidnapped from in the world’s largest refugee camp, officials said.

Interesting.

I meant that you could as easily have NOT been Kenyan had it not been for western powers. Basically I wanted to know if reer NFD felt like they have always been Kenyan or whether they viewed the whole arrangement as artificial.

The ongoing operation by the army in Somalia will be followed by a major swoop on estates in Nairobi where the government suspects sympathisers of the al Shabaab and Al Qaeda reside.

Internal Security assistant minister Orwa Ojodeh told Parliament Wednesday morning this swoop will be "the mother of all operations in Nairobi".

Mr Ojodeh made the statement as MPs from North Eastern Province criticised the security checks on flights to and from the area, which they said amount to harassment and discrimination.

"This (the al Shabaab issue) is like a big animal, with the tail in Somalia, and the head of the animal is hidden here in Eastleigh," said the tough-talking assistant minister.

"After the Somalia thing is over, I am going to do a mother of all operations here in Nairobi to remove all al Shabaab and Al Qaeda," said Mr Ojodeh as he asked MPs to support the decision.

Its never right or principled for a Somali to support the invasion of their country by an external power, especially if that country is Kenya a historical enemy.
The only way to reach peace in Somalia, is through solutions from the Somali people themselves any other way will always be artificial.
