Buses in downtown Nairobi are now using metal detectors, the funny thing is anyone who has ever been to Kenya knows how messed up those buses are. It was even more funnier when it was my turn to get on the bus with a big black bag and the alarm went off. I told the guy don't worry about it is only my laptop and he let me in without checking my bag at all.
There security checks in most restaurants in town also. These people are not ready for war.
