Who can translate this into Somali??

Post by Cumar-Labasuul »

Whoever this translator is he did a bad job i.e. bismillahi = magaca eebbe yaan ku bilaabaynaa; that would be "we start in the name of god", when it should be "in the name of Allaah" - another thing why is he using 'eebe' in this case when Allaah's name is clearly present. Btw, I really don't like the use of that word 'eebe' we should stick to ilaahay ama Allaah

can you guys translate this, let me try:

Image
Magaca Alle, kii naxariista badnaa, kii naxariista guud lahaa
Image
Mahad Allaa iska leh, ee rabbigii caalamka ah
Image
Kii naxariista badnaa, kii naxariista guud lahaa
Image
Ee boqorka guud maalinta qiyaamaha ah
Image
Adigun baan ku caabudnaa iyo adigun baan caawis kaa waydiisanaa
Image
Ee jidka saxda ah inagu toosi
Image
Waa jidka aad u balan qaaday kuwaad jeceshahay, maaha kuwaad ka cadhootay ama kuwaad jidka ka leexisay. Amiin

I get stuck on the first part. In the Name of Allah, Magaca Alle/Ilaahey translates as The Name of God not in The Name of God. Anything I say will probably be blasphemous so no need in aan extra dambi is galiyo maanta.

The Term "eebe" is a pre-islamic word which reflects ancient somalis who practiced christianity.eebe=heavenly father.

which is why I don't like to use it because it's 'pre-islamic' we already use 'ilaahay' and 'Allaah' so we don't need to use 'eebe'

Abgaal you're wrong, Somalis were animists prior to conversion to Islam.
Allah & ilaah also predate Islam, as English speakers we also say 'God', Pakistani and Persian Muslims say Khuda, Malays and Indonesian say Tuhaan, so why this sudden distaste for the Somali word for God? :?

How dare you. Your ancestors may have worshipped trees and stones but mine were always monotheistic. :x

of course Allah and Ilaah predate Islam, Islam is only 1400 years old. Furthermore I said I don't like the word eebe and prefer to use Allah I also don't use god much.

Abdi our ancestors worshipped cows, much like the Hindus.

Cumar a personal preference you say? I doubt it...never mind, I guess it comes with the territory, hating everything Somali.

Allah is the name Arabs gave to God, Waaq is the name ancient Oromos and somalis gave them!
U are not going to tell me that the subxaana wa tacaalaa prefers the name Arabs gave him and wants to be called only by his arab name
