how does one deal with depression?
When it is so in your face, and everything points to it. Yet, acting as if nothing is wrong, making excuses like "it's just the way I feel right now... I really just don't feel like doing anything"? How does one stir someone up and out of their lethargic state and become active again?

Exercise...removing negative people and influences from your life....recognising its depression but recognising that there is a root cause. Maybe you need therapy for some unresolved issues. Maybe you have made bad choices in life...how do you fix them? You just need to find the right solutions to your problems. Most people you talk to will say 'I have a perfect life' and list a few useless facts about their house, education and kids...Its not only low lives who get depressed I want to tell them LOL. a crazy psychologist will drug you up and not find the root cause...I would advice introspection and IMMEDIATE action. Force yourself to do things...I know people on anti depressants who havent changed their habits...they still do 'depressing' things. They dont focus on their hobbies or change circles...wtf is the point of the drugs in this case??!!

also eating is very important, one of the chief causes of lethargic feeling is poor eating habits. Once your depressed as your activities become less active, then your consumption of food also goes down, as your consumption of food goes down then your energy level goes down, with low energy you don't want to do anything, it's a vicious cycle.

It's very complicated. It's best fixed from within (though there might be a need for external help of how to) because it's an emotional/mental issue and the sufferer understands better the root of their dark feelings.

this is very primitive view of human nature, please refrain from posting in any of my topics. If you don't already know my views of you, I hope you will realize that I find you an annoying attention seeker.peaceandwar wrote:KIBIR..is the source of all depression, unless you are in poverty or in ill-health...otherwise, go throw yourselve from the tallest bridge near your house...because you should not b depressed at all..when especially there are so many people less fortunate than you who still keeping the faith..

Nanees, the fact that life is temporary and the uncertainty of life after death, that itself can cripple people emotionally and mentally.

The real problem is when you have little control over the behavior of the person. How do you get someone else off depression, even if they pray a lot, and they don't have toxic friends.

Look, I might be attention seeker but I havent lost touch with reality you lil brat...You are given the best chance to survive in this world...You have nothing to worry about ..and here you are ku kibreysid ilaaheygu ku abuurtey....I tell you a good cure to your depression...get close to Allah(i aint saying im a sheikh)...Walaahi that will be very helpful..when you recognize that there is higher power and that higher power can solve your unsurmountable problems...The other advice I would give you is to think about the people who are dealing with unimageable pain, handicapness, and sorrow....So repent to you lord who has blessed you...
