the Somali oday

Post by LobsterUnit »

The Somali Oday is essentially the kingmaker of his Somali society. From Alshabab, to clan states, to General Petraus, the oday is a prized and sought-after asset to have on your side. Whilst some Western odayaal could be looking forward to a life in a retirement HOME, a Somali oday of a similar age is enjoying the height of power and the prestige of being the center of the social fabric which keeps Somalis ticking. When the British landed in Somalia, the had to sign a deal with the odayaal before they could go to the toilet.Indeed, the oday is a fascinating political phenomena in the SOMALI society. Power to the odayaal.
