Somalia: Immense geographic beauty and humble people

Post by whitehartlane »

I am from the somali clans,Grandmothers with southern and northern heritage,Native horn of african bloodlines, Hard working, strong, determined,Proud and intelligent,Stern and compassionate people.

I am from a new generation, nomadic refugees. Moving forward, learning from the past, traditions handed down, along with secret camel meat recipes, hidden behind centuries of nomadic innovations.

I am from "You can be anything if you work hard enough.""God forgives those who ask forgiveness.""Treat others as you want to be treated." I am from home, hooyo macaan iyo walaalo dhib badan, macawiis worn from dawn ilaa dusk, warm milk and honey to cure what ails you.

I am from ardul sumaal,Filled with sunshine and never ending coast line, rocky mountains in the north and dancing rivers in the south. I am from great-grandparents with great great stories, generations surviving the colonial wars, the cold wars and tribal wars,Parents who wanted a better life for their children. I am from the scent of my mothers kitchen,Family gathered around a table with 5 different hilib dishes during ramadan,Sounds of music intermingled with laughter,Echoing through time.

I am from the african part with the arabian touch, serving a purpose,Filling a need, holding a hand,Breaking a heart, mending wounds, teaching life's lessons, carrying on traditions,For generations yet to come.

Somali people are very humble people, you dont have to look through a politically tinted glasses, when sharing your perspective on anything relating to Somali

as a matter of fact Arab Italian Russia and English writers have over the centuries all stated Somalis can be the most humble and welcoming people aslong as they do not see u as a threat...

we are indeed very humble, I can go to berbera to beled xaawo and people will feed me and shelter me within there means as they would do for anyone, unless currently there is a feud between them and my sub clan

The Somalis that u are talking about and the ones that i greatly hold so high are NOT THE SAME,
the nomadic Somalis, the ones that live under such harsh condition yet are so grateful and will share whatever little resource they have...

If Somalis were not humble, Somalia from Hargeysa to kismaayo would have been slums full of people that beg...

Thanks inadeer... Colonel appreciate your comment..

Funny thing nowadays is, that some cant praise or be happy about Somalinimo, i can hardly be positive about my people or there land in general without someone questioning ones humble motive of the expressed gratitude..

lakiin when promoting or praising ones tribe/sub tribe it's applauded and even defended with several other comments and threads
