Well, I've read some posts in Somalinet Forum Board, were some members claiming that Marehan has different UGaas!! which is not based on truth, I want to tell them chain links of Ugaaska Beesha Sade, story beggun here: Marehan are the only Somali tribe who agreed to have one Ugaas, and that is beggun live started from early 1300, however, When Ugaas Diini passed away the Prince took over by Ugaash Sharmarke, then followed by Ugaas Gulled, after that Ugaas Jamac, Ugaas Abdulle, Ugaas Mohamed, Ugaas Hirsi, then Ugaas Omar who passed away last year in Nairobi due to short illness, Now new Ugaas named Mohamed Ugaas Xashi been inaugurated his home town in Garbaharey late last year, so UGAASNIMADA is like a chain and no one can change it. You said 1300AD? and could you tell us the first Ugaas of Sade since you are very sure the date its created?. I think Ugaas tittle came in later on and Garaad was the real tittle in old days. I dont how many Marehan Jifos has a lineage that has Garaad names?..........rer Garaad is only reer that has that tittle. i am thinking Imam Axmed Gurey was grandson of Garaad Mataan coz that is what Oromo people in Harer call him.
