The Ethiopian army and the militia Ahlu Sunna Somali Government pro made this Monday with the control of the strategic Somali town of Elbur, in central Somalia, without fighting with the Islamic fundamentalists of Al-Shabab, which evacuated one of their most important strongholds.
In telephone conversation, Nur Dala Osman, a member of the Council of elders of Elbur, said that the militia of Al-Shabab fled spotted Ethiopian troops, heavily armed, approaching the western gate of the city. "The boys of Al-Shabab left the city soon, and those left, also went to see the dust kicked up by the Ethiopian trucks", said Osman.
"The Ethiopians have been killed by a person, accused of belonging to Al-Shabab, and are now running the city door to door", added.
For his part, Ahmed Ilka ase, Vice President of Executive Council of Ahlu Sunna, pointed out that the militia of Al-Shabab left the city without stand up to the Ethiopian and Somali troops. In a statement published by the website of the Somali Shabelle Media Group, Ilka ase explained that Allied fighters control the totality of ElBur, where they intend to "restore law and order as soon as possible".
In addition, in a statement released by the Somali press, the Federal transition Government (TFG) of the African country said that Allied troops are searching for the fundamentalists in the outskirts of the city.
The Executive of Mogadishu also noted that allied forces have also captured the strategic town of Hudur, in South-central Somalia and less than a hundred kilometers from the Ethiopian border.
Al-Shabab - which announced its Union formal with the terrorist Al-Qaeda network last February - fights the internationally backed Somali TFG, the troops of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and the Ethiopian, in order to establish a Muslim state of court Wahhabi in the country.
Somalia living in a State of civil war and chaos since 1991, when dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, was overthrown that left the country without an effective Government and into the hands of Islamist militias, warlords and armed criminal gangs.
