Newly crowned Ugaas Mohamed Ugas Hashi Ugas Hersi of Marehan is attending as well as the leaders of Garre, along with the governors of Beled-Hawo and Mandera districts, the governor of northeastern province, deputy interior minister of Kenya, and Somali parliamentarians from Jubbaland.

Garre are really educated people. I think they and the Degoodiye Somali have taken the most advantage out of the Kenya education system. They also are crafty people who are the most integrated Somalis in the Kenya professional system. One time I remember my dad's Visa expired. He called up his Garre friend who got it stamped for him in an hour.
