Abudwak airport enters 3rd stage of development.

Post by The`Republic »

It will have one of the longest runways in Somalia outside of Mogadishu and Berbera. Entirely built so far by people in the city of Abudwak, the last fundraiser raised a $100K from the citizens and now the TFG, the UN, and the German government are getting involved in order to make it "area" airport of large transportation in central Somalia where from it either through trucks or smaller planes large scale transportation can be facilitated from to Beled-Weyne to Gaalkacyo.

The recent fundraiser that raised $100K from Caabudwaaq residents.

Awesome. Next step is to connect Caabudwaaq by road to the North/South Highway.

Universal TV recently devoted the first 30 minutes of a segment to the importance about the airport

For a non-coastal town, the need for an airport however big or small can never be underestimated. Respect for reer Abudwaaq

On somali channel they said the estimated cost is $1 million. I dont know how much an airport or airstrip (thats what most "airports" in somalia are) costs. Republic are you sure its gonna be one of the longest airports? cause $1million for a big airport doesnt seem right yo
