Very impressive.

How many suicide bombings have there been just this year? How do you convince this many people to blow themselves up?

Not as succesful as Hizbollah, Hamas and Islamic Brigades...those fuckers have a waiting list for hellbound tickets and 72 trannies  Al-Shabaab prey on the weak and brainwashed them with lies. These fuckers are not Muslims, simple.

Hopelessness + psychological trauma of war .
Like I said if you wake up everyday to the sounds of mortars and the staccato of kalashnikov , it won't take much convincing by the time you turn 20
However what pushes a guy who lived in the either the US or Europe to come back for that , I dunno .

They need to go to mental hospitals... all of them.

They would blow up their mothers if given a "good reason" to do so.

What about the ones who leave the West and go back to fight for them and/or blow themselves up?

I actually know 2 guys in Shabab. One of them is currently with Shabab after running away in 2009. The other one blew himself up last year killing a hoyoo selling tea and some AU soldiers. Burning in hell right now  The one who is living will be burning too

Just twist up a few Quranic verses and their meanings to a bunch of Salafis and they will gladly.... kaboom!

No sense of identity and need to belong. Many of us are told continuously that living in non-Muslim lands is haram, that not taking part in jihaad is kufr, that siding with the kufaar is kufr, that not doing something to help Muslims is haraam, that qabiil is what has destroyed Somalis and that al-Shabaab is the answer to it all.

Most of the guys who left were either in school or recent dropouts/grads, felt completely out of place, no work, and spent their time in masjids where politics behind the scenes was far more important to management than the youth in the musallah. When these guys sat around and talked about fighting and al-shabaab, management did nothing. It was only long after the mindset took hold in the west that management finally deciding to say something, and I still argue it's not enough.

When these guys are promised Jannah if they go, very little can convince them otherwise.

No guys, its a promise of their families being taken care of. If you're from a poor family and it would guarantee your family meals and what not, you might have a line of guys who would take the job. If they're fighting a war, they're already prepared for death.

U could have a point there.

Poverty drives people to insane things. They could be leaving that money to their families.

Edit. Seems like that.

The one's who left the west, the outstanding majority left 2007-2009, when Ethiopians were in the country. It was a mix of patriotic nationalism and the whole gaalo have invaded your Muslim lands. They went their to fight the Ethiopians, they didn't necessarily have the same ideology as Al Shabaab, Al Shabaab just happened to be the group that was doing the bulk of the fighting.

Once you join the group, you're not really getting out, and then the indoctrination comes which they then convince them to do the bombings.
