Making eye contact with random people.
The other day, I was at a restaurant, and this lovely boy I know from school caught my eye.
Sitting in front of me was this random white couple, and the husband caught me looking at what he presumed to be himself, smirked, and then cocked his head to his wife, who then literally turned around and glared at me. I wanted to be like, "Ew. No. Never. Your husband is ugly. You're ugly. Don't flatter yourselves." But saying that isn't necessarily socially acceptable, so I rolled my eyes, and turned my attention back to the conversation at my table.
It's so awkward making eye contact with random people, especially if it's a married couple who assume that you're a trifilin' ho.

Do you find it awkward if someone random gives YOU prolonged eye contact?

Random eye contacts usually end with me fleeing the area.

No, I was definitely eying the much, much more attractive guy.Tuushi wrote:Runta sheeg,u just caught while eyeing the hubby.![]()

Making random eye contact doesn't make me a dh-lo; my other life choices, on the other hand, do. So oops @ u.miskeen86 wrote:only hoes make eye contact with random pple![]()

Because I'm clearly a loose woman who has the morals of an 18th century German prostitute; it's clearly a product of my identification as a feminist.miskeen86 wrote:so why are you staring at that white boy for?
Now excuse me, while I go off and snort a line a coke off a black man's sweaty chest.

I make it a habit of not looking in someone's direction, so long as they know I might be looking. Usually my eyes are on the ground or on something within arm's length. People staring is something I can't really deal well with. Though lately I've been catching more glances and braving the looks with a smile. The last was a librarian girl whose eyes started darting around when mine met hers while looking.
Lol @ spelling woman with a 'y'. I thought that died-out mid-90s.

Yes, but if it's an attractive male, I'm a little bit more accepting of the awkwardness.grandpakhalif wrote:Do you find it awkward if someone random gives YOU prolonged eye contact?

You don't seem to be alone on that. An ugly dude is a creep, by default.blitzkrieg wrote:Yes, but if it's an attractive male, I'm a little bit more accepting of the awkwardness.grandpakhalif wrote:Do you find it awkward if someone random gives YOU prolonged eye contact?

Men too, though—and that’s because a lot of people accept prolonged looks as a sign of attraction, and clearly most people would be more willing to engage in this awkward, silent flirtation if the other person is perceived to be attractive. There’s this one guy I see daily who just stares at me, and honestly, if he weren’t gorgeous-as-fuck, I’d be less willing to accept the attention.Alphanumeric wrote:You don't seem to be alone on that. Lol I look everyone around me or passing me in the face. Just a habit. I used to trip over everything and walk into poles and trees a lot as a kid because of this
