My view on the Niqaab/Face veil.

Post by ZubeirAwal »

When i was in Ajman last year, me and my mother was walking past a somali women with a niqab, as a muslim my mother said " asalaamu alaykum" she didn't reply and stared at her unpolitely, i think it's wrong to cover your whole identity whilst staring at someone's else's. A Niqab doesnt make you more religious, just like a muslim with a beard is no way more religious then a muslim with no beard, the thought of superiorty over the dress you wear is quite ridiculous if you ask me, Don't get me wrong ,i don't judge anyone at the first look, a women in a niqab can turn out to be a sexy women under, or she can turn out to be ugly under, Muslims in some western counties who apply the niqab despite it being against the law shouldnt be crying when the law enforcement or the police crash down on them, it is their land and what is in their laws you must apply, personally when i have a wife inshallah, i'd insist her in wearing a normal head-hijab with an abaya or a dress since that is more then enough, the prophet said cover everything execpt your hands and your face.

   Insha'Allah I started wearing my Jilbab and want to wear a Niqab soon   If my future husband doesn't like it he can do one.

True say about Niqabees though some of them don't return your salaams and look at you funny lakeen that's okay because the Angels answer your salaams if a Muslim person ignores it :D So that's even better for me.

Abaya is a modernised Jilbab back in the day there was no such thing. It says in the Quran and even hadiths when the Sura of hijab was mention the ansari women and the wifes of the prophet (saw) all covered themselves from head to toe (I.e Jilbab) and tore their aprons and covered their faces with it

And this is Allah's land not the kuffars so I will dress how I like but if there ever is law banning Niqabs then cool I won't wear it as long as they don't try banning Jilbabs and Abayas  Plus I have so much English revert friends that are niqabies it's their land too and they choose to dress that way so it's not only foreign Muslims doing it/

TeAmo, the niqab is not an obligation, it's not fardh, it's optional, i hate it when niqabis think they are better then other muslim women, thats just ignorant.

I know it's Sunnah but it is a very strong Sunnah and it is recommended by Scholars some have different views whether its compulsory or not coz the Quran doesn't really mention the niqab clearly but Allah knows best. I know there are many niqabees who think they are better because they are 'Niqabees' but that's not true it's not about what you portray yourself as from the outside it is how you are from the inside. Dressing religious and acting religious doesn't make you religious it's living a religious life that makes your religious.

A part of being decadence for women, niqab is bidca. Earlier wahabists and the sunni founders like ibn tamiyah and ibnu wahab were againist this bidca for being an ancient non arabic custom wich has its rootes in the jacobite syrian christianity.

It wasn't arab custom, they adopted it from byzantine syria during the islamic expension. Once it used to be classy and was only worn by the upper class sasanian women. I think you can see these upper class women with niqab while fanning their faces in the europian old movies.

since they are suffocating in the desert they decide to cover their mouth and nose to assist them in suffocation

doesn't make too much sense.
