20 dollars that's just plain slavery Subhan'Allah that's mean making someone do everything and paying them that little. What's the point of making someone cook and clean when it's her duty as a wife? Atleast do the cooking yoursel. People are so mean.

I remember my uncle paid his maid $20 a month. But she was given her own room and a place to live. I wouldn't want to be her making less than $150 a year but I think they have accepted it and that there is no feeling of contempt. It also looked like a lot of the maids are either runaways like my uncle's maid or are either nieces or grandchildren. My grandmother has a grandchild as her maid, pays roughly the same and also pays for her school. She started the maid business when she was 12. I've never seen a maid over the age of 20 though.

Lol! if that is a salary of the employer how would you expect him to pay this to the employee? The government has set a minimum wage of $100 for maids, what this is plain rubbish.
