Iran ban women from more than 70 university degree courses

Post by Beenaale_No1 »

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... ities.html
It follows years in which Iranian women students have outperformed men, a trend at odds with the traditional male-dominated outlook of the country's religious leaders. Women outnumbered men by three to two in passing this year's university entrance exam.
Iran has highest ratio of female to male undergraduates in the world, according to UNESCO. Female students have become prominent in traditionally male-dominated courses like applied physics and some engineering disciplines.
So instead of celebrating that more of their women are getting higher education, they decide to restrict women instead.

Well, you have to look at the downside of women's successes. One:
In recent years, however, Iran's birth rate has dropped significantly.

Due to the current world politics & how the West is trying to corner Iran politically, economically & militarily, I aint buying this piece.

Iran has a population of nearly 80 million. They'll be alright. And what a shit excuse that is for restricting women's right to higher education. "Oh but the birth rates are dropping". Birthrate is far less important than basic human rights.

You think freedom and gaalo society is good, wallahi its a mirage.. women are happier when they stay at home and their husband provides for them *fact*. allah gave us roles women to take care of kids and men to take care of financial... only in extreme circumstancers should women be working like they are single mother...

Prophet Muhammed (saw) said women are the back-bone of society .... Back in the days muslim women and the prophets wives used to fight with the men side by side in the wars agains the kaafiroon

Prophet Muhammed (saw) was pro-womens education

yes women should take care of their children ..but thats only when the kids are small

Masha'Allah the government of Iran have the right idea. These women don't need to be involved in those 70 degree courses, they would be much better served else where. This is a great move.

:comeon: La ilaha illa lah, your telling me the Prophet wants women to work in fields where men and women intermix, which is haram, please don't make statements like these as you will regret them. How many ahaadith and athaar I can bring you of the Prophet advising women to stay home, from the MASJID let alone a place of fitan like the workplace. Do you think us muslim men enjoy working with these dirty kaafiras and shaking their hands let alone muslim women! The concept of females working merely for economic independency has no basis in the Shari?ah. In fact, it is a root of many evils. It is this economic independency in a woman that gives her the courage to break her marital home. Consider the marital breakdown in the US (4-5) due to woman independency. If she was dependant, or her husband, she would exercise restraint and maintain her marriage. That is best in the interest of her family, husband and children. It does not mean that a woman should be dependant on men merely to maintain her marriage.
