I cant stand Mad Men for different reasons: 1. I don't like American period movies, its ridiculous to say the least. 2. Mad Men is based in the 50s and 60s in America, a period of chauvinistic and racist nature in the American History. 3. Mad Men is a series that compliments the greatness of White Men. I am not saying white men are not great, they are-- but I don't want to watch a series that tells me that, in every episode. A white man can watch and nostalgia himself to oblivion, I have no problem about that. Its the American freedom of choice. 4. The fashion of the that era in America, is atrocious not to mention, puke inducing. As an aesthetic human being, I find it offensive that human beings were made to dress in such a manner.

Last but not least---Frankly, it is not an intelligent show. People in that era are supposed to be intelligent than that-- but its America, and not British, do I understand the shortcoming.

I me some period dramas; it's good to see the books I enjoyed as a teen brought to life. Damn, I need to resume watching Downton Abbey..I keep hearing of just how good it is, even from my local librarian.

The second period movies is more than 7 years old. It is called north and south based on Elizabeth gaskells novel with the same name. It is more a 19th century novel than an 18th century, not particularly my favorite time of history. ( as u can see the invasion of train service ruining the quaint lifestyle of horses and carriages) Watch it, its lovely.
