'Arabization' Reason UN Pushes AMISOM For Somalia?
I observed a lot of Somalis who came from Somalia, and there is no question that Somalia has been heavily influenced by the Arab world and inparticular Saudi Arabia since the civil war. I remember, seeing a lot of Somalis who came from Somalia recently and it seemed anybody who went to school in Somalia post '91 is fluent in Arabic. Actually forget, school even the ones that didn't go to school went to dugsi and are better versed in Arabic Grammer (Naxwa) than Arabs themselves (who speak more slang). On top of that even culture wise theres been more of a change. These dugsis or institutes like Abu Hurarah, Markaz Imam Marwazi both in Mogadishu as well as a lot of the other ones who were funded by Saudi. My Uncle, Had a institute that includes a dorm, library, buit for Him in Baardheere by a Emaraati businessman. That same Emaraati businesman built one in Guricel (Galguduud) and is planning the same for Caabudwaaq. Sh Shariif, for instance was a representative of this as He was the only person to hold Presidency in Somalia while being fluent in Arabic even addressing the UN as Somali President speaking Arabic instead of Somali.
In light of this development, did this kinda unsettle the West and make them wanna 'reinforce Somalia's African identity' and push them away from any sort of 'Arab influence'? Is it more a case maybe where the Arab League isn't that interested in involving in Somalia, while the AU is salivating and eager to? I dunno, but I can't imagine the West really wants Somalia linked with the Arab World and would rather have Somalia be in the sector with Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda.

I'd agree with you on arabization of somalis in the last 20 years.
One thing about the collapse of the state was that education is now provided
privately.
You have arabic only schools, Islamic schools, even "normal" schools
place a lot on Islamic upbringing and learning of Arabic.
I'm not sure about your argument on the UN.

Is the arabic language the source of the problem ? would they be any less lethal if they were speaking a different language ?
Let me tell you something , in neighbouring Djibouti , arabic is also mandatory in "secondary " school {beyond grade 6}

the issue with somalia every one has concern including arabs, is lawlessness. every one wants to look after their interest, sida dibaatada heysata somalida o so gaarin.

What I meant is foreign policy wise I doubt Great Brittain, US, EU, etc. will wanna dump Somalia with the Middle East but would rather look at Somalia from a African Lens. They'd like to see Somalia identify with Uganda, Bururndi, Kenya, Ethiopia more than with Middle Eastern Countries. I think this is one of the reasons they are so supportive of AMISOM, and why AU is the defacto rep or wakil of Somalia today.

The problem is not "arab" versus "african " .
What poses a problem here is the NOMADIC population in Africa , from Somalia all the way to Senegal .
It is called globalization . Time to for all of us to sober up here
Cooperation instead of competition is the way forward

I think they learned their lesson from the 90's and so are reluctant to send european or american troops to somalia so now they will be supportive of amisom's presence in somalia because its africans vs africans instead of whites vs africans.Murax wrote:abdikarim86 wrote:II'm not sure about your argument on the UN.
