Vegetarian?

Post by SultanOrder »

Anyone thought of going vegetarian? I honestly am thinking of going some kind of vegetarian. My reasons are simple, animals should be treated well. I am appalled by the condition that animals raised for livestock are in. It is beyond cruelty, and one who ponders deeply about this issue can only come to one conclusion, something must be done. I want to make a conscious objection by refusing to partake in this. I warn you, livestock butchered halal is no better, just because you kill an animal in a certain way should not erase or wash over the cruel life that animal had lived. I am not against meat, but I am for animal rights. And unless an animal has been treated right, I don't want to eat them.

May God have mercy on me :blessed:

I watched a video on farm animal cruelty, you wouldn't believe how they're treated in the slaughter house. After that I tried to abstain from meat for a week. At the beginning it was kind of fun but at my house everything that I didn't cook myself had meat. I just had to give up. Maybe after I get married, I will live in vegetarian lifestyle. :)

Advo, this aint about meat vs vegetarian.

Aisha, the truth is the sahaba and rasul didn't eat very much meat, but when it came to them it was a khayr min allah. So I want to take that approach, but when I have the choice I shall insha'allah abstain from it.

Banadirbeauty, I know, and don't think "halal" meat is any better. Unless you go to the farm and pick out the animal and you know the condition it is in, then I am all for it. Insha'allah when I have a family, we shall go ourselves to the farms and get one whole goat or whatever fresh, and just keep it. Lakin, hilib is also an addiction, but if you eat too much meat, it has too much health affects on the body and mind, but no matter how much vegetables you eat, you never have negative effects on the body.

Please don't make light of the cruelty and unbearable conditions that animals are put through. It is against our deen and what it means to be humans. Islam was one of the first to have sacred laws on the rights of animals, so I suggest you take it up with our Prophet scw who first set those guidelines.

Sheeesh kebab dude calm down. So if the meat is halal what is the problem? The prophet also said we can eat meat. According to my knowledge most of the halal meat brought from butchers are brought from farms that obide by the Islamic rules towards animals if not an Islamic farm.

Anyway good luck, I know for sure you can't quit meat besides you're Somali if you quit meat you will become a skinny chicken leg farax.

Now excuse me while I go eat some chicken :eat:

TeAmo, I'm glad you have such trust, but I'm not so foolish. Who is in charge of these halal committee's, what are their relgulations, how can they stop false labeling of halal? A lot of these "halal" slaughterhouses are automated that have automated recording devices that say "bismilah" before the machinery kill the animals.

I tried being a veggie for a day, by dinnertime I was contemplating on chewing my arm. Besides, vegetables are like Kryptonite to us Garxajis.
