In recent time i assumed every leader was a corrupt senile official, but reading about Chavez and his political line he seemed like a decent chap. Benevolent and loved, he was indeed.

yep he was the people's president.
I was just watching some american politicians giving their view on his legacy and to paraphrase: "like hitler he had support from some sections of his country, but no doubt he was an authoratirian ruler who ran the country with an iron fist"
