Arintan sidee ku xaliyaa?

Post by zingii »

I live in apartments (A) and (B) that are next to each other.
I have a wireless internet in apartment (A) but not in apartment (B).
The two apartments are only seperated by a wall and nothing else in between.

Since i already pay for an internet in apartment (A), i figured i could extend that
signal to apartment (B) instead of paying for two services.

The Problem

The wall in between the two apartments is blocking signal and acting as a barier from reaching apartment (B).
The only area that the signal reacehes and strong enough is the restroom and the room next to it.

WHAT CAN I DO TO IMPROVE SIGNAL STRENGHTH?

i dont wonna pay two bills for internet.

This one is easy Zingii, even I know this one. You tear the wall down, thus allowing apartment A and B to become Apartment AB

ok Trolling aside.. a few things come to play bro. First before you do anything make sure your wireless router is a good one, it will have to be a wireless N frequency for sure. After that move your router around in apartment A, it might actually be all about the location of the router. Make sure its not locked in a room or something like that. If possible, move it as closer to apartment B as you can.

If that is isn't working, you can try what is called a wireless booster. Its another little device you can purchase from any computer store and what it basically does is, it becomes a booster for the wifi signal you already have in the house, creating a wider range of the same network. It will have sit somewhere in between where the router is and where you the signal to be. You can test this out and if it doesn't makes any difference, you can always return it.

Sometimes just from the way and the materiel the building is made out of, you might be able to get this working at all. Wireless signals bounces of walls to get to where its needed and sometime that just doesn't happen, and nothing can be done about it.

Could this also be an option.

Buy a long telephone cable.
Move modem/router from apartment (A) to apartment (B)
Use the telephone cable to link router/modem in apartment (B) and the phone in apartment (A) thru the windows.

Would this shift the signal to apartment (B) entirely?

If so. :dj:

Yeah that would shift the signal to the apartment the router is located at, and it wouldn't be a telephone cable, its Ethernet cable which looks like a telephone cable but is a bit larger.

Are you referring to something like this?

I have this at home connected to the router because my room has zero-to-nothing internet connection.
