Somalia and the Muslim Brotherhood

Post by Titanium »

It's been around 7 months since the President has been elected. It is well known that the organization he is a part of is Al Islah/Dam Jadiid aka the Muslim Brotherhood of Somalia.

Here is a picture of the Supreme Guide of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood with the head of Al-Islah Dr. Ali Basha. They have a very close relationship.

My question is: Where are they in the political scene? I have not seen them do anything. What are they waiting for? Will they come out of the wilderness once the country is fully under national government control? Are they playing the waiting game?

What involvement do you expect them to have?

For one, influence in government appointments. It seems they have none of their men visibly in the gov't.

Hassan Sheikh has the visible Govt of cardboard cutouts, NGO profiteers and yes men, and a shadow Govt which is the real power.
They operate behind the scenes without transparency and accountability.

This cabal occupying Villa Somalia are working for a narrow business interest of their members, not the country at large.
