Anime/Manga Nerds only

I haven't read manga in a while, so I would like some suggestions.

Lately, I've been into quiet stories that focus more on the character's inner life and finding themselves or else chronicles the experiences of some traveller (ie. Tetsugaku Letra and Mushishi). But I like animes that are more action-oriented, exciting, and original like Samurai Champloo or even Fullmetal Alchemist. Any suggestions?

I just started reading the first few pages and I see this.

I can't believe he knowingly slept with a monster. :mindblown: Nevertheless, it seems interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.

^But I must warn you that series is highly addictive, I got hooked on series in the 90s and I still follow the story like a crack addict despite Muira's long breaks.

Otoyome Gatari - very scenic and slow moving manga. Kinda unique.
Beck - some like it, some don't. Manga goes much further than the anime.
Eternal Sabbath - kinda weird manga, but interesting.
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō - one of the more interesting mangas/animes. Post-apocalyptic setting with very chill androids.
Yotsubato! - easy going, breezy manga. Ironically the inspiration for the 4chan name. Some people find this one creepy, but i had no idea of their perspectives until after they mentioned it. It was one of my favourites to read with a cup of shah, but now due to backlash, i can't find it anywhere. (Though I haven't looked for a long time)
Solanin - kinda iffy on this one, but maybe you'll enjoy it. Focusses more on characters, but it's pretty basic on plot.
Holyland - it's a rough one to read. Haven't kept up with it in a couple years. Don't think I'll go back to it. Kinda dark.
Moyashimon - Lol, this is fun one. Hope you're not a germaphobe.
Genshiken - a manga about otakus. Also an anime.
Vinland Saga - easily one of the best i've ever read, and i've lost count as to how many i've gone through.

Just reread your post. Think I've wasted 30min on this lol. Don't know if you'll like em. Had in mind you wanted something easy going, chill. None of the above are adventurous. Except Vinland Saga. That's a great one.

Ah well.

You're right, the manga is older than I am. :lol: At least I'll have a lot to catch up on during his breaks.

@Starkast

Samurai Champloo is one of my favourites too. I'm still sad it ended but it was bittersweet. I started reading Cowboy Bebop years ago but maybe I'll continue it now. And Chaos suggest Berserk. Although a little dark, it seems really good.

@Alphanumeric

Those sound interesting. lol I don't think it was a waste, it's always nice to read something different. And I read a bit of Otoyomegatari.
The art is really beautiful and the story seems intriguing. I can't believe I haven't read it until now. :ahh:

Beserk Chapter 1
"It's only fitting you go to hell, tasting heaven"
:dead:

The only manga I read now is Naruto, and I can't believe it's still not done yet, It's been 10 years I been reading it smh.

Cushetic, If you want a psychological thriller, read Monster, one of the best animes I've ever read. It is about character more than action.
